2023 Ciudad del Cielo, Dominican Republic Trip Summary

Our fall trip for 2023 was conducted from October 20-30 at the Ciudad del Cielo school campus in the Dominican Republic. We built school retaining walls and conducted children's ministry for the area. We had 23 volunteers for this trip - many of them for their first time.

Our group of construction volunteers were able to complete the available walls within six days. The team learned very quickly and we had quite a bit if help from the local Maranatha team. This school is very special as it is dedicated to a long time Maranatha employee, Darrell Hardy.

Our VBS team was able to present children's ministries at the local school for over 400 local children. The children were very receptive and quickly formed bonds with our volunteers. 

For our excursion, we were able to take a boat ride to go snorkeling and to visit Isla Catalina for a great day on the ocean.

We were fortunate enough to be part of a church dedication that our youth group built in July. What a fantastic experience!!
