Our 2017 summer FOUNDations Youth Mission trip led us to Georgetown, Guyana to construct a large classroom building, conduct a roving Medical Clinic and lead out in children's ministries. We had 60 volunteers on this mission trip.
We were able to complete the school classrooms in six days as planned. The construction was led by our young people. We had some special challenges with the heat and with building on sand, which reflected the heat back onto us.
Our medical team was able to conduct their clinic in the surrounding areas - including some days going via boat into the jungle! They treated hundreds of patients during the week and were able to show God's love in the community and point them to the school. The team put in a LOT of miles on bus and boat to spread the word.
The VBS team were able to conduct the program in local churches and show hundred's of the area children about God and invited them to church the second Sabbath.
The highlight of the week was one of our young people wanted to get baptized in the pool at the hotel on Saturday night. By the time we were done, 19 of our young people had either been baptized for the first time or rebaptized. What an incredible evening!
For our excursion, we traveled via boat up the main river to an island for a day of fun in the sun and water..
