Our spring 2014 mission trip saw us travel to Quingoma, Brazil to build a church, conduct a medical clinic and lead out in children's ministries. The church was for a community outside of Salvador that had been planted by a dedicated group of local members. The community sustains itself by picking through and recycling the garbage from the local landfill. We had 30 volunteers on this trip.
Our construction team was able to complete the church in six days. We had a great local team and had a local puppy that would hang around the job site. During the church dedication, he fell asleep on the podium and the pastor had to shoo him away!
The VBS team were able to conduct their program in the surrounding areas and show many of the local children about Christ.
Our medical traveled throughout the area to different towns to conduct the clinic. They were able to treat hundreds of patients during the week and made a huge impact to the local community.
For our excursion, we visited Rio de Janeiro and saw Christ the Redeemer, Sugar Loaf Mountain and Copacabana beach.
